Reparation Thoughts

….By His Wounds we are healed

Volume XXIV, Number 6

Dear Donnès of Reparation, Family and Friends,

In this past month, we have witnessed the death of Pope Francis; the transition of a Papacy; the Hierarchy of the Church gathering in all its diversity; and the election and inauguration of a new Holy Father, the first from the US who can speak to the nations and has “Fear of the Lord”!

If you are a true believer, no words are necessary to explain the Power of the Holy Spirit in this development of time. If you are not a believer, no words could explain what we have all witnessed! The question is: how strong is your belief?

In our area of the Northwest, a Monstrance, one of only six blessed by Pope St. John Paul II for Vocations, is traveling to our local Parishes. Thousands of Oregonians are spending intimate time with the Lord on this behalf. No words can explain the peace, love, joy, security and well-being that time in adoration gives one’s soul for we are truly in God’s Presence!

We will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost on June 8th. Mary and the Apostles gathered in the Upper Room to pray after Jesus ascended to Heaven. Having completed His Mission of Salvation for all humankind, the Spirit came forth to infuse the earth with His Gifts and Fruits. Pentecost is the Birthday of our Catholic Church, A Feast of Love!

This Pentecostal Feast is also the Anniversary of the Founding of our Community—established by the Hand of God to make Reparation for the sins of all humankind especially those against the Most Sacred Wounds of Jesus. We Sisters renew our vows each year on this great Feast and our Donnès make or renew their dedication to this reparation call. It is vital that beliefs be put into action. We are called to restore, refine, and rebuild what is wanting in this world where God desires that all know the comfort and security of His unending love!

We are urged to prepare for this great Feast that we might be emptied of earthly concerns and ready to be renewed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Apostles and Our Lady spent nine days in prayer after the Ascension until Pentecost. Let us use these nine days to prepare ourselves for ‘Nothing is impossible for God’! His love for you is beyond measure. There is no need to fear when we strive to stay in the state of grace, pray regularly and remain open to God’s Holy Will for us. What else matters when God walks before us and with us!
