What is a Donnè?
In short - a person that helps the Sisters live up to and perform the duties of their order.

Can I be a
Donnè?

- Do you have time to volunteer?
- Are you looking for a worth while organization to devote your time to, an organization that helps your own community? There are many things that one can do to be a
Donnè.

- Can you gather food for the poor? Pick up bread from local stores and deliver to the Convent or where it is needed. How about gardens.... Do you raise a garden that produces more than you need.... Food such as this that is received is canned and given out to those in need when the need arises.
- Can you help the sick by visiting them in the hospital or nursing home?
- Can you cook, can, or clean?
- Can you mow the lawn and trim shrubs?
- Can you paint?
- Can you sew?
- Can you be on a prayer chain?
- Can you sing? - Ave Maria Chorus is a great place.
- What can you do to help God's community.........?

These are only a few things that are needed.
What talents and/or resources do you have to work with?
What do you like to do?

Do you like to work with children?

Then how about a weekend or two in the summer to help with the discernment groups. It takes alot to enable the community to have the discerment groups. The girls arrive on Wednesday and Thursday and stay until Sunday. Here is only a partial list:

Food to be gathered and meals prepared for about 20 people for for 4 days. On Sunday, there is usually a potluck for the families of the girls.

Supplies need to be gathered and preparations made for the projects that they do.

There is furniture to move, out door furniture and awnings to set up.

There is usually a trip to one of the local sites: swimming at blue lake, a trip to Multnomah falls, a days hike, and most importantly - daily Mass. Transportation is needed to and from the trips each day.

There is Mass to set up for on Friday nite, to be ready for Sunday

and as always, there is the unexpected....

The next discernment group is not scheduled for June 2007, but there is a lot of work to preparing for something that is this big of an event.

The time has come where more help is needed.

There is lots to be done: There is ALWAYS a NEED... Can YOU help fill one of those needs?

Food to be cooked, gardens to be weeded, dishes to be washed, lawn furniture to set up, and many more things that need to be done to welcome, house and feed about 15 extras for 5 days.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE?  Don't be shy... Come, join the family of Reparational Donnes.
